Playa Carrillo is a quiet little town about a 10 minute drive from Playa Samara. We went to spend two nights to check it out as we were told it is mas tranquil (very chill); we ended up staying for 10 days! It was indeed very chill…i.e nothing going on in that town. But the beach was incredible with very few people, palm tree lined coast and calm waves. It turned out to be an interesting and fruitful trip as I will elaborate in my post. Wildlife was abundant, the most we’ve seen so far on this journey. Howler monkeys, iguanas and lizards, all sorts of birds including a macaw, and of course lots of bugs which is a given in the jungle. I’m slowly getting used to it, but the huge spiders still freak me out!
