Playa Samara is by far one of the nicest beaches I’ve seen in CR. This place has been kept secret for years and still doesn’t have many tourists; compared to other beaches and towns in the Guanacaste region. But the word is getting out and it’s getting busier. I’m glad I had the opportunity to experience this piece of paradise before the Americans take over this town as well. No offence to the gringos, it’s just more of an authentic experience when you still hear Spanish on the streets and there aren’t any fast food chains. The locals still ride horses around town and on the beach and many others are riding around on cruiser bikes. The waves are forgiving and small so it’s a great place to learn how to surf. It has also been awesome for my kids to swim and play in the ocean.
